After an eventful year at Atik, we will be taking our festive break from the 23rd of December, and reopen at 9.00am (GMT) on the 4th January to recharge for the exciting new year of 2022.
If you have an issue during this time, please continue to get in touch through our contact form or your usual point of contact. As always, we will keep a watchful eye on our support channels through this holiday period and will get to your enquiry as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience.
As our team continues to follow distancing guidelines, we can’t show you our annual festive group photo, but we can take you through this year’s highlights:
2021 Competition Winners
From over 450 entries, Stefan Muckenhuber and Thomas Engl won our annual astrophotography competition for their stunning image of M81/82, and won an Atik 16200 mono camera. Enter your amazing astrophotos into this year’s competition for your chance to win any camera in the Atik astro range.
Apx60 Launch and Giveaway
Throughout September and October, we ran a giveaway to celebrate the launch of the new Apx60, our new 60-megapixel camera.
We were delighted to announce our winner Julian Shroff, a 24-year-old German student who has been a keen astrophotographer for around 4 years.
Look out for more exciting news in the new year, as we extend the Apx series with the brand new Apx26.
Mark Thompsons Guinness World Record Lecture
In September we proudly sponsored Mark Thompson as he smashed the world record for the longest astronomy lecture. Mark talked for a staggering 140 hours and raised over 11.5k for the children’s charity Barnardo’s. Mark has definitely earned a break this year, and you can read all about Mark’s experience of sleep deprivation here.
Events are back!
We were thrilled to get back to attending trade shows and other live events this year, at the start of October attending two of the best, Vision Trade Show from the 5th to the 7th and straight to LAS star party on the 9th.
At Vision we showcased our newly launched TE-77 imaging solution, with more investment into CCD technology to come in the new year with three new cameras in the TE- series. Look out for more news on the website and social media.
What’s next
There’s no time to rest in the new year, as our first conference will be the 239th AAS meeting in Salt Lake City from 9th – 13th January, quickly followed by Photonics West from 22nd to 27th January in San Francisco. We’re very much looking forward to meeting you then.
And finally… have a Merry Christmas from the Atik Team!
As always, we have appreciated your continued support and enthusiasm for the products throughout 2021. Wishing you warm wishes over Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year!
